As parent or educator, it is important that while teaching children about financial planning, we do not focus exclusively on teaching them about making money, saving money and investing money, but we also introduce them to the ethics of money. In fact, we believe that discussions about the ethics of money are the most important of all aspects of financial literacy – lessons and perspectives that even us as adults, lack and need.
The crass materialism; conspicuous consumption amid abject poverty; the epidemic of corruption; and of course, the mental health crises that we see in society today is because many adults do not have a proper understanding of the ethics of money. Thankfully, we can do better with our children, especially as they are being brought up by parents whose relationship with money now is more dangerous than it was when we were being raised by our parents. That’s why we are pleased to share our blogpost today on “The Ethics of Money”
